This arrived on my doorstep and I was really anxious to read more about it. So I picked up this book to flip through and immediately became engrossed. I read all sorts of stories involving food. Some of them talked about loved ones passing on honored recipes. Others talked of helping ill people heal with some lovingly crafted meals. I guess it's fitting that my nutty family loves nuts. If there is any kind of nut in the house, it must be hidden or it will be devoured. I have to really stash away the almonds I use to make biscotti around Christmas. So I was mean and didn't tell my husband that I was getting to do a review for Fisher Nuts as I wanted first crack at the nuts. (Get it? It's okay, I know it was lame.) I received a bag of Walnuts and one bag of Sliced Almonds. The Walnut Pieces were perfect for snacking and baking. I say baking theoretically because that never happened with these nuts. Hubby's eyes lit up when he saw these because he is following a low-carb diet. I rarely buy nuts because they're expensive so free nuts drove him nuts. (They're not going to get any better, folks.) The Natural Sliced Almonds went over really well too. I was intrigued to see these because I'm sure they would be a great change to my biscotti recipe.
