I am Maggie, the creator of Tethered Mommy. I married my computer geek husband in 2004. I am a SAHM to 5 year old girl and 3 year old boy. We live just outside NYC in suburban Rockland County, NY.
I am very into reading/books and consumer technology (like computers, smart phones, e-readers, etc.). The name “Tethered Mommy” came about when I thought about how certain electronics “tether” to others in order to keep a data connection. I am “tethered” to books and my electronics collection as well as my family.
I’ve worked with many different companies ever since I started this blog in March of 2010. I welcome companies big and small to contact me about conducting a review of one of your products. I may be a smaller blog but that also means I have more time to spend on each review and your product will stand out instead of just being shuffled into a huge list.
All reviews are provided free of charge. It can take 4-6 weeks for me to complete and publish a review but if there is a specific time frame you’d like me to publish within it can be discussed. I will link to your website and the product whenever possible. If you have specific keywords you’d like me to use, just let me know. I also try to include a few images from the product website, if not some images of me and/or my family actually using the product. I cannot return items that have been sent for review.
My readers also adore giveaways (as do I!). I currently use the Rafflecopter widget to manage my giveaway entries. Giveaways can be any duration that you wish but I generally try to have them run at least 2 weeks. Throughout that time period, your giveaway is entered into various giveaway listings. It is also tweeted by my network of bloggers and by the giveaway entrants themselves for another entry. While I encourage entrants to follow you on Twitter and like you on Facebook, I find that most entrants prefer to have those as optional/extra entries. The best primary entry is generally something that involves going to your site and coming back to Tethered Mommy and leaving a comment about what they learned/liked on your site. I ask that all giveaway prizes be fulfilled by you, either physically or electronically (for instance, with an e-gift card).
I also have various giveaway events coming up that I am looking for sponsors to provide prizes for. A giveaway event involves a group of bloggers coming together under a common event (like Share the Love for Valentine’s Day-themed giveaways) and each hosting individual giveaways during a certain time frame.
