*CLOSED* Orglamix Natural Mineral Makeup – Review and Giveaway!

I’m a bit dumb when it comes to makeup.  My mom never wore it that much, so therefore I’m not too good at it.  My usual repertoire is some mascara.  A bit of a fancier occasion?  Then add some eye shadow, and maybe even *gasp* liquid eye liner!  I can do some mean special effects (read: gory) makeup with regular old makeup.  Too bad I couldn’t walk around looking like a ghoul all the time.

Enter Orglamix!  Orglamix is mineral makeup with absolutely no synthetic ingredients.  I know you’re all familiar with the “other” mineral makeup sold on TV.  Well, Orglamix is similar but is better – it’s more natural.  There are NO parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, petro-chemicals or phthalates.  I don’t know what a few of those things are, but they sound scary and I would probably be much happier without them on my skin.

I was given the chance to try my choice of three products, so I picked Violace – Pure Organic Mineral Perfecting Corrector, Balsa Pure Mineral Powder, and Sage – Pure Organic Mineral Eye Color (similar to the Mint eye color).

I have terrible under eye circles so I thought the Violace corrector would help.  I wanted to try the Balsa Pure Mineral Powder for a general foundation.  Finally, the Sage eye color looked fun and like it would bring out the green in my hazel eyes.

Everything arrived VERY quickly – much faster than I had even hoped for.  I was therefore able to try this out on a double date (very rare occurrence around here).  However, I was so excited (and a bit rushed to be ready in time) that I forgot to take pictures.  So I reenacted the makeup scenario today (unfortunately no hot date tonight, just a chiropractor appointment).

Here’s the before:

Pretty scary, right?  Well, this next one is after the Violace color correcter and the Balsa mineral powder applied under the eye.  It looks light but you’ll see later that it evens out.

Okay, it doesn’t look tons better, probably because of my phone camera and the harsh bathroom lighting.  It looks way better in person.  Trust me.

And then I applied the Sage mineral eye color:

I know it’s a bit blurry but it does show it off nicely.  I actually applied this wet this time and it’s nice and vibrant, green and shimmery.  It’s a bit much for every day but fits into my makeup routine nicely.

Of course, I have absolutely zero proper makeup brushes, so I highly recommend springing for the Brush Set also sold at Orglamix.  For $14.99, it’s a steal and helps you apply the makeup correctly (unlike me).

So we’ve established that Orglamix can somewhat dress up a dweeb like me.  But it gets better – if you’re not 100% satisfied, just return your makeup within 14 days and you will be given a full refund.  I think that’s more than fair.  Plus this organic makeup is not expensive at all – most eye shadows are $4.99.  Add in the all-natural factor and I thinkthat’s a steal.
