Bring Me Home for Christmas by Robyn Carr

Looking for a fast read that will put you in the holiday mood?  Then check out Bring Me Home for Christmas by Robyn Carr.  This book is the 14th installment in the Virgin River series.  However, take it from me that you do not have to have read any of the other books to enjoy this one.  Here's a short summary from the publisher: This year, Becca Timm knows the number one item on her Christmas wish list—getting over Denny Cutler. Three years ago, Denny broke her heart before heading off to war. It's time she got over her silly college relationship and moved on. So she takes matters into her own hands and heads up to Virgin River, the rugged little mountain town that Denny calls home, as an uninvited guest on her brother's men-only hunting weekend. But when an accident turns her impromptu visit into an extended stay, Becca finds herself stranded in Virgin River. With Denny. In very close quarters. As the power of Christmas envelops the little town, Becca discovers that the … [Read more...]

Zenni Optical gets you in the holiday mood

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Zenni Optical for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. I bet you never thought of getting eyeglasses just for the holidays.  I know I never did.  But why shouldn't you match your eyeglasses, something you probably wear every day, all day long, to the festivities going on around you?  Zenni Optical makes it easy with their large selection of cheap eyeglasses. You'll be amazed at the selection of holiday-themed frames available at Zenni Optical.  Yes, some of them are just red, green or gold, but there really are some striped ones that look like candy canes.  While maybe I wouldn't go that far, I found a pair that I really like that would actually work for the whole year: Pretty cool and festive, right?  These would really get me in the Christmas spirit this year!  I think it may just bring a bit of cheer to everybody you're encountering while you wear them too. And get this - these frames are only $6.95!  Yes, … [Read more...]

Dora the Explorer: Dora Loves Boots DVD Review

There's a new Dora the Explorer DVD that's about to hit the shelves - Dora Loves Boots!  This DVD will release next Tuesday on 12/27 but I was able to preview it so I could share it with all of you. This new DVD features four episodes of the hit Nickelodeon series, Dora the Explorer.  Let me tell you a bit about the episodes: Boots’ First Bike Boots is really excited because soon he’ll be getting his very first big bike.  The Delivery Duck flies in with a postcard of a shiny yellow 2-wheeler bike for Boots.  His new bike is finally ready to be picked up and he can’t wait!  It’s going to be a series of “first” adventures as Baby Blue Bird takes her first flight, Lil’ Piggy sails on her first pirate ship, and Tico’s baby cousins learn how to safely cross the street and make it to the bike shop. Bouncy Boots Boots’ favorite boots are back from the Shoe Shop, but when he tries them on, he starts to bounce. Dora and Boots set off to find his favorite boots … [Read more...]

LG DoublePlay – doubly awesome!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of LG DoublePlay™ for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine. Have you heard about the LG DoublePlay™ smartphone?  This phone has a touch screen AND a QWERTY keyboard - something I've been searching for for awhile.  And not only one screen - but two!  Throw in some multitasking power so you can update on Facebook while you're searching the web and I WANT this phone!   Of course the LG DoublePlay™ has a camera for you to use.  But it also has special ways for you to chat with your friends and even text from your PC or tablet so you can keep in touch no matter where you are!  I love this option to texting since I text a lot - at any given time I have five "conversations" going on.  How much do you text or chat a month? The LG DoublePlay™ also has 2.3 Android OS (Gingerbread) so you know you're up to date on that.  Plus you can take advantage of the … [Read more...]

*CLOSED* Sister Schubert Rolls – a delicious addition to any meal

sister-logo

I love me some bread.  I love it so much that if there is bread at a meal, I'm doomed.  I'll eat way too much of it and be too stuffed to enjoy  the rest of the meal.  So we generally don't have bread with our meals, except when we're celebrating a holiday with our family.  And then I bread out.  As a matter of fact, we are in charge of dinner rolls for Christmas dinner this year.  I'll probably way overbuy because I can imagine scarfing those puppies down. So I was so excited to be able to try out Sister Schubert's delicious bread products.  You know, in the name of taste testing for the family and all.  Don't be surprised if you haven't heard of this company - they aren't sold all over the country (why, I'd like to know).  But I was sent some samples of their newest products to try out. … [Read more...]

Playmobil Robbers Amphibious Play Set

Robbers

I grew up on some Playmobil toys.  My older brother had been given some cowboy and Indian sets as well as an ambulance play set.  I really enjoyed these toys and remember them fondly. So I'm really excited that Playmobil is still around and has vastly expanded their selection.  Above, you can see a picture of the Robbers Amphibious Play Set.  This is such a cool toy that I really wanted to play with it myself!  My kids immediately wanted to open it up but I didn't feel like hearing a fight (and this is totally a fight-worthy toy).  I waited until my daughter was at school and my 3 year old son and I opened up. This cool playset comes with the vehicle (which floats in water AND has wheels to work on land), the robber figure, crowbar, shotgun (a bit too realistic IMO), 2 stolen cases and "money".  As soon as you open this up, say good-bye to the money (hey this part is dead on!).  Those little pieces are so tiny that we lost one almost immediately. My son went ballistic over … [Read more...]
