Those shows

Those Shows Guest post written by Joseph Finch I love CSI and CSI-New York. The first thing I checked when I went online at HTTP://tvbydirect.com was to make sure they offered the television station these two shows came on. They recently showed the reruns of the episodes when Laurence Fishburne went to New York and Miami to solve a crime. The season opener was a little dull when he just kicked that guy out of the window. I was expecting a little more, but they made it for it in later episodes. Now even though I do like CSI and CSI-New York I do not like CSI-Miami. The characters seem very one dimensional. It seems like the writers dropped the ball on this one. Maybe they were tired of trying to create versatile characters, or maybe they thought no one would notice. I am hoping the new season will be better. My kids are pretty happy when I turn the television in disgust. This means they can find all of their favorite shows like Dora the Explorer and anything that comes … [Read more...]

*CLOSED* What to Expect series – a must-have for pregnancy and beyond (Giveaway)

WTE LOGO

Pregnancy is such an exciting, yet confusing time in a woman's life.  I know I had a ton of questions but also just liked knowing - what my body was doing, what the baby was growing the week and what to expect. I lived for reading my copy of What To Expect When You're Expecting.  I think almost every single day I was searching for something, trying to find out more about it.  Also, whenever a new week would roll around, I loved seeing what was going to happen that week.  Also, after my daughter was born, this book offered tons of advice that was very needed - when I had the time to read it! On into B's first year, I devoured What To Expect the First Year.  I learned what milestones she should be hitting when, what first foods to give her and so many other things.  I wasn't quite up on reading What To Expect the Second Year, mostly because I became pregnant with my second when B was only 18 months old (in what world did THAT sound like a good idea?!).  But I again turned back … [Read more...]

Perfectly Invisible by Kristin Billerbeck Blog Tour

Perfectly Invisible by Kristin Billerbeck is the second book in the Universally Misunderstood series.  To give you a brief summary of the plot (from Amazon): It's Daisy Crispin's final trimester of high school, and she plans to make it count. Her long-awaited freedom is mere months away, and her big plans for college loom in the future. Everything is under control. Or is it? Her boyfriend is treating her like she's invisible, and her best friend is selling bad costume jewelry in the school quad--and hanging out with her boyfriend. To top it off, Daisy's major humiliation for the year will be remembered in the yearbook for all eternity. It's enough to make her wonder if maybe being invisible isn't so bad after all. While this book is second in the series, you by no means at all need to have read the first  book (Perfectly Dateless).  In fact, that is one problem I had with this book:  if I had to hear about the prom where Daisy does the tango with Max again, I was going to … [Read more...]

*CLOSED* Eden Fantasys has “it” any way you want it (Intl. Giveaway)

eden

***Please note that this post is for a review and giveaway from a store that sells adult products.  Please do not read any further if you are under 18 or easily offended.*** We're all adults here (or better be, after my warning above - last chance before I come after you with this!)  Anyway, as consenting adults, sometimes hubs and I like to spice up bedroom life a bit.  Any "alone time" we can snag together better be awesome, and if it's not, it really stinks.  Who knows when that alone time will be available again?  In order to make most of the time we have, we're not against using some sex toys.  I've shopped at many online adult stores and found Eden Fantasys to have the best selection, prices and quality.  After all, who wants a vibrator that gobbles up batteries and has no oomph? That being said, you get what you pay for when buying vibrators and the like.  No, the high-end ones are NOT cheap.  But they are also of the highest quality and do what they're meant to do … [Read more...]

Pami Pocket – Pretty AND Purposeful

pami

Sometimes I don't feel like carrying my whole purse.  At those times, I try to just grab my (ginormous) wallet and go sometimes.  But I have to hold the darn thing, and it's heavy, awkward and doesn't fit in my pockets.  So I get frustrated and worry that I'll drop my wallet (which my kids have been known to do if I ask them to hold it).  When you throw my cell phone (albeit smaller than the previous phone) into the mix, it's all over.  I've got to bring the purse. Pami Pocket to the rescue!  Pami Pocket is essentially a pocket on a string.  While created for use while wearing a swimsuit, this product carries a huge range of uses for all of those times you don't need and/or want your whole wallet or a purse. Last year when we were at the beach, I was using a small zip-top bag to protect my smartphone.  Yeah, that was not pretty.  This year I will wear my Pami Pocket with pride (while I pray it pulls attention away from my cellulite) and keep my phone protected.  While … [Read more...]

*CLOSED* Banish stinky pet breath! EvoraPet Review and Giveaway

evoraPet30-3D-left

I didn't think it was possible, but I have cats with dog breath.  Yes, cats with bad breath.  Our cat who recently passed had terrible breath and I think that Daisy feels she is honoring him by continuing on the bad breath tradition.  As far as I know, they don't make breath mints for cats nor am I endangering my life by brushing our cats' teeth, so I was kind of stuck for solution until recently. EvoraPet is an odorless, tasteless powder that you sprinkle onto your cat or dog's food.  That alone is amazing.  The other great part?  EvoraPets is a 100% herbal solution and also contains probiotics.  I know when I hear the term "probiotics" I know that they are good no matter what ailment/issue they are being used to treat, so more of those are definitely a plus in my book.  EvoraPet also gently cleans and whitens your pet's teeth, which of course would lead to better breathe. Okay, but the real question is, how did the cats react to EvoraPet?  Daisy, aforementioned Dragon … [Read more...]

*CLOSED* Bic Soleil Bella – pretty close shave

bic

I'll admit it, I hate shaving.  I don't think it's fair that women MUST keep their underarms and legs shaved, not to mention the other unmentionable areas.  I also detest my dark hair.  So any razor that makes this chore easier is one I love. So Smiley360 asked me if I wanted to sample the Bic Soleil Bella.  I can't keep track of all of the new razors coming out (I find it overwhelming) and hadn't heard of this one but figured it was worth a try. Well, the four flexible blades, pivoting head and all that just didn't do it for me.  I found that the blades didn't seem to give me a close enough shave on my underarms.  The Soleil Bella just worked better on the flatter surfaces, like my legs. I can't blame Bic for trying but this is just not the razor for me.  I'm sad, because I was prepared to be wowed. But not too sad, because through this program I found out about the Bic Soleil 100 Days of Sunny Moments contest, going on now through August 8th  Looks like they have … [Read more...]

Wind down and wine it up with flipflop Wines

flipfloplogo

I believe that summer is for relaxing and chilling out.  Unfortunately, that can sometimes cost a bit more and who really has extra money to spend nowadays?  Even dinner out is an event that hurts me in the wallet. But no fear, I have the perfect solution - flipflop Wines.  Great wine + great price = MORE relaxing.  After all, doesn't the thought of some wine and flip flops make you all relaxed and zen-like?  And the fact that that awesome wine cost you under $10 a bottle - totally chill. I'm a wine idiot and usually drink whatever is handed to me.  Well, flipflop made it easier for me by including some literature with the samples they sent so I could announce the cola notes in the Pinot Noir and sound all knowledgeable.  It probably didn't help that I was slurring at the same time but I have to thank flipflop for trying to educate me. Okay, wine at a good price - but does it taste good?  I can't speak for wine connoisseurs but I found it just lovely.  I tried the Pinot … [Read more...]
