I'm a laptop junkie. I LOVE my laptop and it's portability and able to stash it wherever I need to when company comes (even though I never do - love me, love my laptop). The desktop lives downstairs in the finished basement - ie away from the kitchen and good TV (priorities, people!) so therefore I'm always using my laptop. I just bought a new laptop and I love it, except for one thing - the touchpad. My old laptop's touch pad let you double-tap instead of left-clicking. Not so with this new one. And my husband hates this touchpad too (although I don't think that's too terrible since I'm trying to get him to use that old laptop and leave my baby alone). So just in time to rescue me from my frustration is the Ergomotion Laser Mouse from Smartfish! The Ergomotion Laser Mouse is a wireless mouse, which of course I love. You simply plug in tiny USB plug and this mouse is ready to use. You can even leave it plugged in - it juts out less than an inch so it's really not at … [Read more...]

I know the cabinets under my kitchen and bathroom sinks are full of cleaning products. This is even after I've spent a few years trying out all sorts of cleansers - I've finally figured out what works for my household. But now I've found a way to narrow it down even more. Windex has just introduced their Multi-Surface solution with vinegar. I know, I say "Windex" and you think, oh, this is only good for glass. Well, again, Windex has figured out that we want multi-purpose products. It's so much easier to just use one spray for all of your household surfaces, including: Countertops like Corian®, Silestone®, sealed granite, marble (real or synthetic), Formica® Glass Windows including factory-tinted auto windows Appliances like microwaves, stovetops, toasters, etc Kitchen fixtures Stainless steel Ceramics Enameled paint appliances Ceramic tile Plastic Vinyl And more I think the big stand-out on this list is the fact that the Multi-Surface … [Read more...]

If I'm shopping online, I'm bound and determined to use coupon codes. I search wherever I can to get the very best deals online. If you're like me, then your search is over - GoGoShopper.com is here with coupon codes for over 400 of your favorite online retailers! I wish I had known about their Lego coupons last year when I was searching for Duplo products for my son. But no problem - I should more than make up for what I may overspent last year with GoGoShopper.com and the over 1 million coupons they have listed! Make GoGoShopper.com your first stop when shopping online this holiday season and you're sure to save! I was compensated for this post. However, this did not influence my opinion. All thoughts are 100% my own. … [Read more...]

Much to my husband's opposition, Dora is a favorite in our household. Both of my kids love the show and my 2 year old knows Swiper and says "Oh man!" whenever he sees the sneaky fox. So as you can imagine, there was much rejoicing in our house when the opportunity to review Dora the Explorer: Dora's Christmas Carol Adventure on DVD arose. I'll first give you a quick description: When Swiper tries to swipe the Christmas Star from Dora’s Nochebuena Party, he lands on Santa’s naughty list. To get back on the nice list, Dora must help Swiper travel to the past, the present, and the future to discover the true spirit of Christmas. Will you help too? Filled with original songs and exclusive extra scenes, this all-new Christmas special, exclusive to DVD, will become a holiday favorite for the whole family! (And in case you're like me and totally ignorant of Hispanic traditions, Nochebuena is Christmas Eve (literally "Good Night"). The entire family gathers to celebrate the … [Read more...]

Christmas at Harrington's by Melody Carlson is a book guaranteed to help get you into the Christmas spirit. Lena Markham has just been released from prison for a crime that she didn't commit and is trying to make a new start, but jobs are hard to find for ex-cons. A chance meeting with a nice older lady on the bus ride helps Lena make that first step forward. However, after Lena thinks that her luck might actually be changing for the better, it all seems to go downhill. But good prevails and makes us believe that Christmas miracles come true. I really enjoyed this book. I "blame" it for getting me into the Christmas spirit a bit too early this year. However, I think this book is great in showing how people's circumstances aren't always as they seem. Maybe it can't hurt to lend a bit of a helping hand and place some preconceived notions aside. I'm very glad that all worked out in this book. The Christian focus was very minimal and did not bother me in the least. The … [Read more...]

Nightingale is Susan May Warren's newest book. In this book, Esther is a nurse working with wounded soldiers home from WWII. She is waiting for her fiance and father of her illegitimate daughter, Linus, to arrive home from his own combat tour when she receives a letter from the medic that found Linus wounded when he gave him his own letter to give to Esther. Linus is presumed dead but Ester is afraid to share this with Linus' family, who she is living with, unless she is sure. However, the whole situation winds up blowing up in Esther's face. Don't worry - things all work out in the end. I enjoyed this book after about the first chapter. It was a bit hard to figure out what was going on at first, but I managed to work it all out and become engrossed in the story. My favorite parts were that this was set during WWII but still in America - one of my favorite time periods to read about. I also enjoyed reading about how customs and ways of behaving different at that … [Read more...]

For many years, SpongeBob SquarePants has been a part of our weekend TV viewing habit. Even while my husband and I were just dating, SpongeBob was usually on the TV. Over the years, we've come to know and love all of SpongeBob's friends and neighbors, like Patrick Star, Sandy Cheeks, Squidward, Gary and Mr. Krabs. The only problem I ever had with the show was that we tended to see the same episodes over and over again. So imagine my delight when we received a DVD of brand-new (well to me, and that's what counts) SpongeBob episodes. SpongeBob SquarePants: Legends of Bikini Bottom is a collection of 6 tales about the inhabitants of Bikini Bottom. The running time is about 68 minutes. Here's description of the episodes: Gather ‘round for a spine-tingling adventure (if you have a spine, that is) unlike any you’ve ever seen before! Hang on as SpongeBob, Patrick, and the rest of their Bikini Bottom friends dive into SpongeBob’s Legends of Bikini Bottom. … [Read more...]
